Dubai Travel Guide
Dubai Sight Seeing
Visiting Dubai is one of the wisest decisions you can ever make. If you can take a few days off from work, Dubai is one place you ought to visit. In spite of its being a desert city, Dubai takes pride in many beautiful sights and attractions that often leave a visitor awestruck and inspired.
First on the list is the Bur Juman Center, an enormous shopping mall at the heart of the city. The Bur Juman Center houses around 300 popular and branded stores and boutiques, such as Body Shop, Burberry, Celine, Saks 5th Avenue, Hugo Boss, Cartier, Hermes, Tiffany and Co., just to name a few. There are also movie theatres, if you care for a movie or two, and fine restaurants and cafes if you want to take a break from all the shopping. If you are a shopaholic, the Bur Juman Center will be a feast to your eyes, and that’s not all. Dubai is tax free, so shopping in Dubai, will give you more for your money.
On both sides of the Dubai Creek are traditional markets called Souks. There are many stores here, as well, including the very popular Spice Market. If you want entertainment, you will not be disappointed if you go to the traditional Deira side of the Creek. Here, you are most likely to get a feel of Dubai’s history.
There’s also the Dubai Museum, a must-see for tourists. Located at what used to be the Bastakiya Fort, the Dubai Museum has all the information you need about creatures and things that are native to Dubai.
Then, you can also visit the Heritage and Diving Villages. The Heritage Village takes you back in time. The Heritage Village is a replica of what Dubai used to be, so visitors will have a grasp of how the people back then lived. There are even pottery and weaving workshops, as well as old style coffee houses. The Diving Village, on the other hand, offers a variety of early diving equipment and boats.
You can also make use of your time in Dubai visiting mosques, particularly the
beautiful and the remarkable Jumeirah Mosque, as well as the Grand Mosque. Its
impressive architecture easily makes Jumeirah Mosque stand out among the rest
of the mosques in the Middle East. This all-stone mosque is one of the most
important landmarks of Dubai, and is exclusive to muslims, but visitors are
welcome to enter the mosque as long as they are part of a tour group.
Another thing you should not miss if you happen to be in Dubai at the right
time is the annual Dubai Racing Festival being held at the Nad Al Sheba
Racecourse. The racecourse also houses the Dubai World Club.
There are so many thrilling adventures you can participate in to while away your time in Dubai, but if you would rather opt for a tamer and more quite Dubai experience, going to these beautiful places will nonetheless make your Dubai encounter unforgettable.
